Call for PDWs and Ancillary Meetings

The European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) increasingly attracts co-located workshops and other ancillary events on topics related to Information Systems. The workshops aim to foster communities of interest among scholars and provide opportunities for networking and engagement among colleagues with similar interests, regardless of their academic seniority. ECIS workshops provide a platform for sharing knowledge, stimulating conversation, generating new ideas, challenging assumptions, thinking out of the box, inspiring action, and forming partnerships. Participants can also develop capabilities in specific domains in the hands-on tutorials.

Workshops on emerging topics are especially encouraged. Tutorials on teaching, research (methods and tools), and academic careers are also encouraged. However, the proposed workshops should not be covered by the conference tracks.

We invite proposals for a full-day or half-day workshop to be held on 16 June 2024 before the main conference program. Workshop proposals are due by 15 January 2024.

Responsibilities of the Workshop Organizers

Workshop organizers are responsible for the content of the workshop and are required to cooperate closely with the ECIS 2024 workshops chairs and the local organizers to finalize all organizational details, such as arranging rooms, catering, and required equipment. The workshop will be announced on the ECIS 2024 conference website, but workshop organizers are also expected to promote their workshop (e.g., distributing a call for papers) in their networks.

If the workshop has a paper presentation format, the workshop organizers will be responsible for the review process. This means that you have to use your own paper submission management system (e.g., EasyChair) and publish your own proceedings.

Workshop attendees and organizers must pay the ECIS 2024 workshop registration fee. If workshop attendees would like to attend the main conference, they must also pay the conference registration fee. Workshop registrations and payments will be made via the conference registration system, and payments to the facilities will thus be taken care of by the ECIS 2024 local organizers. Notably, local organizers may require that all workshops adhere to specific requirements regarding the general timetable, registration and catering.

Please note that the workshop’s time and/or location might be adjusted based on the number of submissions received and that workshops may be canceled due to a lack of submissions or registrations at the early registration deadline. Only accepted workshops are official ECIS 2024 workshops and may benefit from support of the organizing committee.
