Welcome to ECIS 2024 Doctoral Student Corner!

As part of this year’s ECIS conference, the AIS Doctoral Student College is hosting a series of events designed especially for doctoral students attending ECIS 2024. All the Doctoral Student Corner events will be held in person at the conference site in Paphos, Cyprus.

The AIS Doctoral Student College is committed to creating opportunities and providing support to all doctoral students, and we continue this effort at ECIS 2024 with a series of events designed to facilitate networking with senior scholars and peers, highlight your research, and enhance your conference experience. We look forward to connecting with participants from around the world with our offerings!

We invite doctoral students of all levels to join our events for free at ECIS 2024 (conference registration required). Several Amazon gift cards will be given away at our events!


Our main events include:

  • Welcome Reception – Monday June 17th, 17:30-18:30 EEST

This event is our official welcome reception for the Doctoral Student Corner. During this hour, students can casually meet and interact with each other on the conference site. We will also launch our Scavenger Hunt during the Welcome Reception!

  • Faculty Roundtable – Tuesday June 18th, 13:00-14:00 EEST

The AIS Doctoral Student College is proud to collaborate with nine distinguished senior faculty mentors from various regions. During the Faculty Roundtable, titled ‘People First: Constructing Academic Futures,’ you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with these esteemed mentors, who will provide advice on various aspects of academic life, such as research, teaching, and service.

You are welcome to discuss any topics of interest and seek answers to your most pressing questions. Suggested topics include ‘Building Your Brand as a Scholar: Planning Your Future vs Seizing Opportunities’ and ‘People First or AI First: Dealing with the Changing Landscape of Academic Work.’

This is our closing event for the Doctoral Student Corner. The event provides doctoral students the opportunity to mingle with each other and faculty members. We will also give away prizes to participants of the Scavenger Hunt.

  • Scavenger Hunt – Monday June 17th – Wednesday June 19th

During the main conference days, doctoral students can participate in our exciting Scavenger Hunt, where you have the chance to win prizes! The Scavenger Hunt will be announced at the Welcome Reception and will conclude during the Hangout and Conclusion event.
